Epic Tequila Lime Pulled Pork Tacos

It doesn’t get better than these Tequila Lime Pulled Pork Tacos. The pork is slow cooked with tequila until tender and falling apart. Moms, don’t worry, all the alcohol cooks out but all the amazing flavor stay in the pork.

How can I describe this pulled pork? Smoky, savory, with a little kick from the tequila? Yup! All this deliciousness inside a tortilla topped with your favorite taco ingredients. I’m drooling!

I like to get a 3 to 4 lb pork roast because it guarantees leftovers! I promise you will want leftovers because they make some awesome DIY chipotle burrito bowls, quesadillas, or lettuce cups (in case you need a low-carb swap or something that will make it work for your next Whole30/FamilyKickStart month).

This Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Taco recipe is one of those you can easily prep in the morning so you can have your feet up after work enjoying a taco and a drink. Check how easy these tacos are to make:

In a slow cooker, combine the chicken broth, tequila, lime juice, garlic, and seasoning. Add the pork shoulder and turn to cover it with the mixture.
  • Cook
Cover and cook on high for 5 to 6 hours, until you can easily separate the pork with a fork.
  • Shred the pork
Transfer the pork to a cutting board, shred the meat with two forks, and return to the slow cooker.
  • Assemble the tacos
To assemble the tacos, place some pork on each tortilla and top with jalapeño, onion, guacamole, queso fresco, and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.

How to Keep Pulled Pork Moist in a Crockpot

If you’re planning to serve the tequila lime tacos at a gathering, you’ll need to keep the pulled pork warm in the slow cooker, without drying out. Once it’s done, set the crockpot at the lowest heat setting and add a little chicken broth from time to time. If you don’t add any liquid, the pork will continue cooking and losing its moisture.

    How to Shred Pork Easily

The easiest way to shred pork is when it is warm, placing it on a cutting board, and using two forks to pull the meat apart. This classic method never fails, is quick, and requires minimal cleanup.
